Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted twice a year by the Indian Air Force recruiting authorities for the induction of the Officers in Flying, Technical, Administration, Logistics branch for permanent and short service commission officers. Every year lakhs of candidate apply and appear for this exam. To crack this exam all you need is right approach and proper strategy.


 AFCAT exam consists of 100 questions of total 300 marks. Questions would be asked from English, General AwarenessMilitary Aptitude, Reasoning and Mathematics

Syllabus for AFCAT exam

AFCAT exam will consist of four sections and EKT ( for ground duty(technical) branch only will consist of mechanical, computer science and electrical & electronics.

NOTE: The exam will consist of objective-type questions and will be in English only for both AFCAT and EKT.

Englishcomprehension, error detection, sentence completion/filling in of the correct word, synonyms, antonyms, and testing of word, vocabulary, idiom, and phrases
General AwarenessHistory, geography,civics,politics,current affairs,environment basic science,defence, art culture, sports etc.
Numerical AbilityDecimal fraction, time and work, average, profit and loss, percentage, ratio and proportion and simple interest, time and distance(trains/boats and streams)
Reasoning and military aptitude testVerbal skill and spatial ability

Standard: Subjects other than numerical ability will be of graduation level and numerical ability will be of matriculation level.


Syllabus for English Section:

This section of AFCAT Exam consist of at least 20 questions and level is from moderate to difficult. Questions would be asked from comprehension, cloze test, synonym and antonym, idioms and phrases, Error spotting.

The questions that are asked in the Mathematics sections of AFCAT are of Easy to Moderate level and questions would be asked from Number system, HCF and LCM, Time, Distance and Speed, Time and Work, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Average, Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Pipes And Cistern etc.
