 Indian Navy has released the official notification for Sailor Entry through Artificer Apprentice (AA-150) and Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR). It is announced that the online application process is likely to commence on April 26, 2021 at the official website joinindiannavy.gov.in.

In this article, we will discuss everything about the notification, eligibility criteria and the examination pattern. 


Eligibility Criteria

1. Unmarried Male candidates can apply for the post of sailors under AA and SSR for 500 and 2000 vacancies respectively.
2. Age - Candidates should be born between Feb 01, 2001, and July 31, 2004 (Both dates inclusive)
3. Educational Qualifications - Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) - 12th passed with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects:- Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science from the Boards of School Education recognized by MHRD, Govt. of India
Artificer Apprentice (AA) - 12th passed with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects: - Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science from the Boards of School Education recognized by MHRD, Govt. of India.

Examination Pattern

The selection of the candidates is based on the order of merit on their performance in the following events.

  • Written Test
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  • Medical Examinations

Phase- II Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

  • Qualifying for Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.
  • PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Phase-III Medical Standards

  • Candidates who are qualified in PFT will undergo a Preliminary Recruitment medical examination.
  • Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum chest expansion of 5 cms. Details regarding minimum height standards for entry into the Indian Navy as Sailors, including applicable relaxations, can be accessed from the official recruitment website

Application Fee

Application fees for this post is Rs. 215/- (No fee for SC/ST)

The payment can be done through Online mode. 

Note : It is mandatory to submit a negative RT-PCR laboratory report of COVID-19 from Govt/ICMR accredited laboratory by candidates at the time of written examination (Report should be dated maximum 72 hours prior to reporting date)
