UPSC CAPF 2020-21 PET (Physical Efficiency Test)
Recently UPSC published
the CAPF Assistant Commandant examination result. Now the selected candidates will
undergo a PET (Physical Efficiency Test) where they will be tested for their
physical stamina. This article highlights the domains where the candidates will
be tested for their physical stamina and fitness. It will be better for the
selected candidates that they start practicing as per the minimum physical
standards required. The PET procedure is explained below.
The PET dates will be
given to the candidates through registered e-mail ID also it is uploaded on the
website of the test conducting force. Generally, PET is conducted after 2-3
months of the result declaration, but this year it can be conducted earlier as
it has been already delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The PET is conducted by
any one of the CAPF forces such as BSF. The complete PET procedure lasts for
10-12 days minimum.
On the PET day
candidates are required to be in comfortable sports uniforms such as tracksuits, shorts, etc. Before beginning the PET there is a documentation process to
be completed. Candidates are required to present their original and Xerox copies
of DAF (Detailed Application Form), 10th mark-sheet and certificate,
12th mark-sheet and certificate, Graduation passing certificate and
mark-sheets, Category certificate, and all the other relevant documents.
Candidates are advised to keep their document folders with them.
After that basic body
measurements of the candidates are done such as height, weight, chest, etc.
Please refer to the detailed notification for the minimum physical standards.
For minimum height is 165 cms. For women candidates, it is 157 cms.
Now the main events of
the PET are as following.
1- 100 meters sprint to be completed in 16 seconds ( 18
seconds for girls)
2- 800 meters race to be completed in 3 minutes 45
seconds ( +1 min for girls)
3- 3.5 meter long jump. ( 3 m for girls )
4- 7.26 kgs shot-put at least 4.5 meters ( only for males
)
After qualifying the
above tests. You will be given a qualification certificate and your medical
will start.
