What is INET exam?

INET stands for Indian Navy Entrance Test. This entrance is conducted every year by the Indian Navy for selection of short service commission and permanent commission officers to its various branches like the executive branch, technical branch, and educational branch.

What is the educational eligibility criteria for INET exam?

The educational qualifications are different for the different branches. These are described as following.

Branch	Educational Qualification
Executive Branch	B.E./B.Tech./ M.B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.Sc.(IT)/M.C.A. / M.Sc. (IT) with minimum 60% marks. A candidate must have secured at least 60% aggregate marks in class 10th and class 12th. Moreover, candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in English in class 10th and class 12th.
Technical Branch	B.E. /B. Tech. with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
Education Branch	M.Sc. /M.A./B.E./B. Tech. with a minimum of 60%. Candidates applying for the education entry must have scored a minimum of 60% in Class 10 and 12 as well as in English.

What is the selection process?

Applications will be short-listed on the basis of normalized marks of their qualifying degree. The shortlisted candidates will be called for attending the SSB interviews. The SSB recommended candidates will undergo a detailed medical examination. Subsequently, the final merit list will be prepared on the basis of Normalized marks and SSB performance.

Are women candidates eligible for this exam?

Yes, both male and female candidates are eligible.

Where do the selected candidates undergo training?

The selected candidates are trained at Indian Naval Academy(INA) Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at Naval Ships and training establishments.
