UPSC NDA 2021: Official Notification 

The Union Public service commission released in official notification for the national defence Academy 2021 on its official website. UPSC has released 400 vacancies out of which 370 seats will be filled in national defence Academy and 30 in the Naval Academy. Candidates who wish to apply and are eligible must follow the steps mentioned below to apply for UPSC NDA 2021 Successfully

  • Visit the official website of UPSC or click on the application link mentioned above.

  • Fill the registration form with your respective credentials.

  • Before submitting the part one and part two forms candidates must verify their details.

  • After verifying the details filled in the application form candidates have to click on the final submit button which will redirect them to the payment window.

  • After paying the online application fee candidates will be successfully registered.

UPSC NDA 2021: Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates who interested in applying must check the Eligibility Criteria Before filling the application form. If a candidate does not meet the desired eligibility criteria then his application form will be rejected.

Candidates who wish to apply for this job profile must be an unmarried male and must meet the following eligibility criteria:


(i) a citizen of India, or

 (ii) a subject of Nepal, or (iii)

 a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India. 


Note: Candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal will not be considered eligible

Educational Qualification

For Army Wing of National Defence Academy

Candidates who wish to apply must be : 

12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy

Candidates must be 

12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.  

Physical Standards 

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I) 2021

Candidates are advised to read the guidelines given in Appendix-IV to check whether they meet the required physical standards and whether they are eligible to apply.

UPSC NDA 2021: Syllabus

Candidates who are applying for UPSC NDA 2021 must check the Detailed syllabus as per the new notification released before starting their preparations. The exam of UPSC NDA will consist of three stages: Mathematics, General Ability Test, and SSB Test/Interview. Let us look at the detailed syllabus  of these stages:

Syllabus of Paper-2: General Ability Test


This test will consist of 6 sections. Candidates will have to prepare the basics of all these sections for the UPSC NDA 2021 Exam. The sections are as follows:

  1. Section ‘A’ (Physics) 

  2. Section ‘B’ (Chemistry) 

  3. Section ‘C’ (General Science)

  4. Section ‘D’ (History, Freedom Movement, etc.) 

  5. Section ‘E’ (Geography)

  6. Section ‘F’ (Current Events) 

Paper 3: Intelligence and Personality Test 

The SSB Round consists of two stages:

  1. Stage I comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception * Description Test (PP&DT).

  2.  Stage II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference
