AFCAT 1 2021 Notification 

Indian Air Force invites  Online applications are invited for the courses commencing in JANUARY 2022 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Online applications are also invited for grant of PC/ SSC for NCC Special Entry Scheme (For flying branch)

Last Date to Apply Online: 30 Dec 2020
AFCAT 1 2021 Exam Date: 20 and 21 February 2021

AFCAT 1 2021 Eligibility Criteria 

 (a) Nationality. Candidate must be a citizen of India as per the Indian citizenship act, 1955. 

(b) Age.

(a) Flying Branch. 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2022 i.e. born between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2002(both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2002 (both dates inclusive).

(b) Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2022 i.e. born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2002 (both dates inclusive).

AFCAT Exam (Multiple Choice Questions)
Time Duration: 2 hrs
No. of questions- 100
Max marks- 300
SubjectsVerbal ability, Numerical ability, Reasoning, General Awareness and Military Aptitude.
There is a negative marking 1/3 in all sections.

Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) would be for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT.
No. of questions- 50
Max marks- 150
Note: Candidates who are opting for Ground Duty (technical) branch have to pass both AFCAT & EKT.

Training:
  • Training is scheduled to commence in the first week of July 2022 for all courses. 
  • The approximate duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.
  • PAN Card, Aadhaar card and account in SBI/ Nationalised Bank is mandatory at the time of joining Air Force Academy (AFA).

Application Fee:
Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee.
