The eleventh version of activity INDRA NAVY, a biennial respective oceanic exercise between Indian Navy and Russian Navy is planned for the Bay of Bengal from 04 to 05 September 2020. Started in 2003, Ex INDRA NAVY encapsulates the drawn out vital connection between the two Navies. While the activity is being attempted in the Bay of Bengal, Shri Rajnath Singh, the Hon'ble Defense Minister of India, is on a visit to Moscow from 03 September 2020 on the greeting of Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, General Sergei Shoigu to examine two-sided collaboration and issues of shared intrigue and celebration of the 75th commemoration of triumph in World War II.

Because of limitations forced by the COVID-19 pandemic, INDRA NAVY-20 would be embraced in a 'non-contact, adrift just' design.

The Indian Navy will be spoken to by guided rocket destroyer Ranvijay, indigenous frigate Sahyadri and armada big hauler Shakti, alongside their essential helicopters. Sahyadri has been directly redeployed to give help to MT New Diamond, which has burst into flames off the bank of Sri Lanka.

The Russian Federation Navy will be spoken to by destroyer Admiral Vinogradov, destroyer Admiral Tributs and armada big hauler Boris Butoma of the Pacific Fleet, based at Vladivostok.


The activity is planned for upgrading interoperability, improving understanding and assimilating prescribed procedures between the two naval forces, and would include surface and against airplane drills, terminating works out, helicopter tasks, seamanship developments and so on. The last release of the activity was led off Visakhapatnam in December 2018.

Exercise INDRA NAVY-20 will assist with advancing lift common certainty and participation between the two Navies and would fortify the long-standing obligation of companionship between the two nations.
