Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi, AVSM, NM assumes Charge as commandant Indian Naval Academy

Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, AVSM, NM gave over charge as the Commandant, Indian Naval Academy (INA) to Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi, AVSM, NM after an effective residency of more than 13 months, today, Monday, 27 July 2020.

Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi took over as the Commandant of Indian Naval Academy on 12 June 2019. During his residency, the Academy saw checked change in the foundation and preparing offices. Under the Flag Officer's authority, on 12 November 2019, INA was presented with the President's Color for rendering 50 years of yeoman administration in forming Naval pioneers for Indian Navy, Coast Guard and Friendly Foreign Countries. Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi was agreed a warm send-off, with the conventional 'Pulling Out' service. 

Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi who has taken over as Commandant is a former student of the National Defense Academy, Khadakvasala, Defense Services Staff College, Wellington, the recent College of Naval fighting, Karanja and the esteemed National Defense College, New Delhi. The Flag Officer is a master in Anti-Submarine Warfare and has directed IN 

Boats Nashak (Missile Vessel), Magar {Landing Ship Tank (Large)} and Talwar (Frigate). His shore orders incorporate Commandant, National Coast Guard, Mauritius from 2003 to 2005 and Commandant, Naval Academy and Commanding Officer, INS Mandovi, Goa from 2007 to 2009. He has the uncommon qualification of instructing the Indian Naval Academy twice, yet at various areas and in various positions.

On advancement to the position of Vice-Admiral on 27 March 19, the Flag official expected charge as the Director-General Naval Operations, earlier being delegated as the eighth Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. He is a beneficiary of the Nao Sena Medal (Devotion to Duty) and the Ati Vishist Seva Medal.
