Operation Samudra Setu - INS Jalashwa Arrives at Tuticorin with Indian Citizens Embarked from Sri Lanka

Operation Samudra Setu: INS Jalashwa, sent by the Indian Navy for "Activity Samudra Setu", entered Tuticorin harbour on 02 June 2020 with 685 Indian nationals cleared from Colombo, Sri Lanka. 

Embarkation of Indian nationals was encouraged by the Indian Mission in Sri Lanka. Staff were left installed in the wake of doing essential clinical screening. COVID related security conventions were likewise carefully clung to during the ocean entry. 

The evacuees were gotten by nearby specialists at Tuticorin and game plans were set up for rapid disembarkation, wellbeing screening, movement and transportation of the evacuees. 

With this departure, Indian Navy has now repatriated 2173 Indian nationals from Maldives (1488) and Sri Lanka (685) during the continuous pandemic. 

INS Jalashwa would now continue the Maldives for repatriation of inexact 700 Indian nationals on 05 June 2020.
