Common Written Examination for NDA 1 and NDA II  to be held on 06 Sept 2020: Union Public Service Commission has released the revised programme of Examination/Recruitment Tests. UPSC will now take the Common Written Examination for NDA 1 and NDA II  to be held on 06 Sept 2020. NDA 1 2020 was postponed due to the Coronavirus Outbreak. UPSC conducts this exam twice every year to select desirable candidates for admission in the elite National Defence Academy which is located at Khadakwasla, Pune.

The Mathematics & General Ability Test will consist of objective type questions only.


The question papers (Test booklets) of Mathematics and Part “B” of General Ability Test will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.

NDA  2020 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications required for Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Candidate shall be 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Educational Qualifications required for Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian 6 Naval Academy: Candidate shall be 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. 

Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status : Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd July, 2001 and not later than 1st July, 2004 are eligible.

The approx number of vacancies for this examination are as follows:

National Defence Academy: 370 to include 208 for Army, 42 for Navy and 120 for Air (including 28 for Ground Duties) Naval Academy : 48 (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme)
