AFCAT 2 Notification 

Indian Air Force invites Indian citizens (Men and Women) to be part of its elite force as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches for courses commencing in July 2021.

Start Date to Apply Online: 15 June 2020
Last Date to Apply Online: 14 July 2020
AFCAT 2 2020 Exam Date: 19 and 20 Sept 2020

Note: There is no intake conducted for Accounts and Logistics branches for AFCAT 02/2020 for course commencing in July 2021


Eligibility Conditions.
 (a) Nationality. Candidate must be a citizen of India as per Indian citizenship act, 1955. 

(b) Age.
 (i) Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: 20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2021 i.e. born between 02 July 1997 to 01 July 2001 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 July 1995 to 01 July 2001 (both dates inclusive).

 (ii) Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2021 i.e. born between 02 July 1995 to 01 July 2001 (both dates inclusive)..

AFCAT Exam (Multiple Choice Questions)
Time Duration: 2 hrs
No. of questions- 100
Max marks- 300
SubjectsVerbal ability, Numerical ability, Reasoning, General Awareness and Military Aptitude.
There is a negative marking 1/3 in all sections.

Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) would be for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT.
No. of questions- 50
Max marks- 150
Note: Candidates who are opting for Ground Duty (technical) branch have to pass both AFCAT & EKT.

Training:
  • Training is scheduled to commence in the first week of July 2020 for all courses. 
  • The approximate duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.
  • PAN Card, Aadhaar card and account in SBI/ Nationalised Bank is mandatory at the time of joining Air Force Academy (AFA).

Application Fee:
Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee.
