Indian Navy to Host Milan 2020 at City of Destination

Indian Navy to host: MILAN 2020

Indian Navy to host Milan 2020:  Milan 2020 which is multi nation military drill will be hosted by Indian Navy in Visakhapatanam whih is also known as City of Destination on 10 January 2020.  More than 40 Countries will participate in this Multi nation military exercise. The full form of  MILAN is ‘Multilateral Naval Exercise’. Many Naval ships of different countries will take part in the Multi nation Military Exercise.  Senior dignitaries of different Navies will also take part in various functions and visit naval facilities during MILAN 2020.

For the first time Milan exercise was commenced in the year 1995. In 2019 this exercise was conducted at Andaman and Nicobar Command. It is being conducted for the first time on mainland at Eastern Naval Command(ENC) with increased scope and complexity of the Exercise.

Following Countries are invited to take part in the Milan 2020 Multilateral Naval Excercise

Countries are: Indonesia, Sudan, Qatar, Thailand, Malaysia, , Egypt, France, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Myanmar, New Zealand, USA, Israel, Tanzania, 
Maldives, Australia, Somalia, Kenya, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Kuwait, Iran, Russia, Djibouti, Bahrain,Mozambique, Comoros, Seychelles Brunei, Philippines, Japan, UK, Madagascar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Mauritius, Cambodia,  UAE, Eritrea and Bangladesh.

The main aim of the multilateral naval exercise MILAN 2020 is to enhance and maintain the professional interaction between friendly foreign navie. Different countries Navies learn from each other’s strengths and best practices in the maritime domain. The theme of the 'Milan 2020' is ‘Synergy Across the Seas’. It would provide an excellent opportunity for Operational Commanders of friendly foreign navies to interact with each other in areas of mutual interest.
