AFCAT-1 2020: Notification out: Indian Air Force has released Indian citizens (Men and Women) to be part of its elite force as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches for courses commencing in Jan 2021. Indian Air Force conducts AFCAT which stands for Air Force Common Entrance Test for admission in elite Air Force Academy. Candidate who are willing to join Indian Air Force can now apply ponline for the same. Minimum 60% marks are necessary in graduation to appear for this test. Everyyear lakhs of defence aspirants appear for this examination and to crack this exam you need to do hardwork in smart manner. Eligibility Conditions.

(a) Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India.

(b) Age:

(i) Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: 20 to 24 years

(ii) Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years

Note: Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.

AFCAT (Flying) - SSC - 60

Ground Duty (Technical and Non-technical) - AE(L) : PC - 40, SSC - 26 and AE(M) : PC - 23, SSC – 16

Ground Duty (Non-Technical) - Admin : PC - 24, SSC – 16., Accts : PC - 14, SSC – 10,. Lgs ; PC- 12, SSC - 08

NCC Special Entry
Flying - 10% seats out of CDSE vacancies for PC and 10% seats out of AFCAT vacancies for SSC

AFCAT Exam (Multiple Choice Questions)
Time Duration: 2 hrs

There is a negative marking 1/3 in all sections.

Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) would be for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT.

Max marks- 150
Note: Candidates who are opting for Ground Duty (technical) branch have to pass both AFCAT & EKT.

  • Training is scheduled to commence in the first week of January 2021 for all courses.
  • The approximate duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.
  • PAN Card, Aadhaar card and account in SBI/ Nationalised Bank is mandatory at the time of joining Air Force Academy (AFA).

Application Fee:
Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee.
