Naval Ex- SITMEX-19 commenced in Andaman Sea

Naval Ex- SITMEX-19 commenced on 18 Sept

Bridges of  Friendship, Sea Phases of Maiden SITMEX-19 (Singapore, India and Thailand maritime Exercise), between Indian Navy, Republic of Singapore Navy and Royal Thai Navy commenced in the Andaman Sea on 18 September 2019.

Indian Naval Ships Ranvir, Kora, Sumedha, along with P8I aircraft are exercising with RSS Tenacious and HTMS Kraburi in the Maritime Exercise. During the Sea Phase the ships will undertake gunnery, Force Protection Measure, Air Defence and Communication exercise to enhance maritime interoperability. Sea Riders have been exchanges between participating ships to enable sharing of best practises.

The Harbour Phase at Port Blair included, professional interaction in the form of subject Matter Expert Exchange, Pre-Sail Conference and friendly basket-ball matches between joint teams drawn from the participating Ship. A food festival to showcase delicacies of each participating country was also organised
