The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday issued an order mentioning the retirement age for all Central Armed Police Force personnel at 60 years.

All Central Industrial Security Force and the Assam Rifles personnel retire at 60. However, in the other four force, Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Sashastra Seema Bal those from the ranks of constable to commandant retire at 57 while those from the ranks of constable to commandant retire at 57 while those above them retire at 60.

The Ministry of Home Affairs order, accessed by PTI, said all personnel of the CAPF forces, will superannuate at the age of 60, instead of 57 years for certain rank of officials.

The decision refer to January order of Delhi High Court where it had called the current policy of different age of superannuation in CAPF Forces as "Discriminatory and Unconsitutional". It also said that  different age of superannuation created two classes in the uniformed forces.
