**SOLUTIONS**

**S1. Ans.(b);**

Sol. Quantity of dry fruit (without water) in 100 kg fresh fruit = 32% of 100 = 32 kg

So, req. quantity of dry fruit =(32×100)/80 kg

= 40 kg

**S2. Ans.(d);**

Sol. 1/A=1/8

and 1/A-1/B=1/20

or 1/B=1/8-1/20=3/40

B takes 40/3min to empty the tank

Capacity of tank =40/3×6 kl = 80 kl

**S3. Ans.(a);**

Sol.

Let total profit = 100

Profit share of each = A : B : C = 5/14×70+30∶6/14×70∶3/14×70

= 55 : 30 : 15

Difference of profit between A and B + C = 55 – 45 = 10

Total profit =100×20=Rs.2000
